It is usually associated with the death of a loved one, but in reality it usually occurs as a reaction to any type of loss, death of a loved one, losses that have to do with the health of oneself, material losses (such as job losses, economical situation, belongings), emotional losses (break-ups with our partner or friends), developmental losses (passing through the different stages or ages, childhood, adolescence, youth, menopause, old age, etc.)
